Olivier Orry's biography

Born in 1980, Olivier is introduced to music very early with piano, and begins to be fascinated by harmonica. For 5 years, he plays this fantastic instrument in Lyon, and discovers solos and improvisation.

At 12 yeas old, he discovers guitar, and becomes passionate for this instrument. Autodidact, he will go deeper improvising with friends, in guitar duets and trios, discovering a new expressive language.

This type of learning, by improvisation, lead him naturally to gipsy and jazz music. He decides to devote to guitar and works hard to improve his techniques.

At 25 years old, he founds with friends the music association "Croix-Rousse Musique" in order to teach guitar and improvisation. For 4 years, he's teaching his guitar approach in Lyon, France. He founded the jazz quintet "D'Ailleurs - Rêveries manouches".

Today, he performs inside different bands for various occasions (live concerts, weddings, business dinners,...) "Speak" with his guitar and improvise became his credo. He actually creates soundtracks for movies and videos.
